Welcome to the stem_snowball project web page. stem_snowball is an Open Source stemming library, released under the GPL. It's written in C++ (Visual Studio 6.0).
stem_snowball is based on Xapian software (http://www.xapian.org). I needed a stemmer on MSWin32. So I took a part of code from Xapian project (Unix oriented) and remain only things related to stemming.
This stemming library works under Windows. At this moment only german stemmer have been tested, other languages (danish, dutch, english, finnish, french, italian, norwegian, portuguese, russian, spanish, swedish) are untested.
